BERLIN - a little more

As I said I was in Berlin to attend a convention and here are a few shots of some of the booths that were there....

My hotel room !  LOL   Berlin is expensive...this was over $100/night!

Hmm - What brand of care is that?? MERCEDES --I'm just not used to seeing the Benz as Taxi's!

BERLIN - Aug 31- Sept 4 - IFA Convention

One of the many things I enjoy about my job is it's diversity.  The daily 'grind' is not a grind at all but rather a very enjoyable set of tasks that change daily....something new is always needed, someone new to contact, moving things along in a very fast paced business accumen - quite exciting!

Occasionally now, from the beautiful island of Malta, I have the opportunity to visit places I have never been before.  Although I have traveled extensively in my business career throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and a bit to South America and the Carribbean - this is my first venture in Europe.

I attended a convention in Berlin.  Beautiful city, I wish I had taken the time to see more of it but I was there for work and not pleasure and most of what I did was work...and I enjoyed that very much....the only 'landmark' I saw was Checkpoint Charlie.  Reminding me of World War II was impactful because my father and an uncle fought in the war, did duty in Europe in tanks - so it was 'interesting' lets say to be in an area that my father had actually been in more than 6 decades ago!

In the middle of the city - Checkpoint Charlie

It would not have been a happy time to be here when this was active

You can barely make out Checkpoint Charlie

Commercialized - Get a picture - Get your passport stamped!

Here are some pics of the Museum next to Checkpoint Charlie and a couple more of Checkpoint Charlie in the group as well

Books and books filled with pages of the deceased...this is only G-K

They would hide children in suitcases to try to get them out

Another method used for escape
