Guess what... I took today off .... well almost...   Sure I reviewed and responded to some emails, worked on a contract we need, sometimes I just can't help myself!!   hahaa   BUT... I took a little venture today...a water taxi from my area just across the bay to Valletta to see that wonderful old city....   Here's a bunch of pics....  yeah, I'm lazy and not marking them today... hey..it's Saturday ! LOL

But first..I did stop at our Bank, the Bank of Valletta - had business to do ! Sshhh, it's a secret

Tourists tourists tourists !!   So many Europeans here ---  I had spaghetti today...wow :-)    Here's from one side or the bay to the other on the little ferry I rode on... takes all of 5 minutes (that might be stretching it) to cross ;-)

This is indeed a beautiful country....vibrant in the colors and the people.... vocal and excited they are, speaking with their tongues and their hands, fluid motion with their bodies that when all are combined it is a symphony of motion that quite clearly allows them to make their point.

July 22 - Sun - Weekend #2 - A comfortable day

Here we are, my second weekend in Malta and guess what????  I actually feel like I know where a few things are !   Now don't get me wrong... I don't have a car and right now I wouldn't want to drive here, they are totally NUTS!  Yield is a word that Malta drivers have never even heard much less have a concept as to its meaning.  So I'm walking!  Staying close to my apartment and quite content.

I have been taking a cab service at a good rate but Monday will be the last day of that...it's off to public transportation to see how it goes.  Some say the local bus system is dependable, others say it is not.. I think it depends on the route so I guess I will find out myself on Tuesday.

So its Saturday... Here's a bit of what I saw today...

Across from the cafe is part of Tigne Bay which is very awesome... there are some pretty good sized boats that are there too.........

Here are just a few general pics.... people pics... attitude here is very friendly, very relaxed and everyone here is here to enjoy life it seems --- not a bad attitude :-)

They love to walk here and the weather, as you can see by the dress, is quite accommodating

July 21 - SAT - My second weekend begins with shopping ---

It just so happens that the largest mall in Malta is The Point, which is next to my apartment complex... it is nice, it is new and so we're going shopping so you can see what it's like.... enjoy..

The Mall  - Called THE POINT - it's at Tigne Point (pronounced Tinny), a nice area

Entrance from a distance...I'm standing about 100 feet from the secured gate that goes to my apartment so yeah, the mall is very close to me..which is good !

Many shops you'll find familiar which is cool but many are not.... take a look

This is Saturday, the busiest day but it's busy here all week from what I hear

Now we go grocery shopping and guess what... it's inside this same mall and it is one of the bigger supermarkets in Malta too

YES!!!!  Alcohol sold in the supermarket - my kind of store -  even Jack Daniels - just wait till we have enough for fun Friday!!!! hahaha

This is $3.30 USD for 2 chicken  breasts !!!

12 oz - $3.85 -- a bit pricey

Rabbit Shoulder - Equivalent is $4.34 USD -- uuh.. this is a local favorite ... I am not that Maltese yet !

And last for this weekend - I told you I didn't have a view from my place and I wasn't kidding.... it is nice but quite simple....  this is from my 'terrace' as they call it here...
